Together for social sustainability – Why we work out on company time

Social sustainability starts in everyday life. For us, it’s about more than a wellness allowance — we also offer wellness time: 30 minutes per week on paid work time. Why? Because movement and togetherness make us healthier, happier, and better equipped — as people and as a company.

Training that builds community

To lower the threshold, we put training where we are: at the workplace. Our sessions are led by engaged colleagues and take place during and after working hours. The line-up includes:

  • Core training
  • Tabata
  • Dance
  • Running
  • Yoga

Working out together makes it easier to get started, keep it up, and get to know each other across team boundaries. It strengthens our social fabric and fosters a culture where we care for one another.

Why we invest in movement

There is strong scientific support showing that physical activity delivers both immediate and long-term health benefits. Even a single session can positively influence blood pressure and blood sugar and reduce anxiety. Regular activity improves sleep and quality of life and helps reduce low mood.

Sweden’s official recommendations are clear: adults should accumulate at least 150–300 minutes of moderate or 75–150 minutes of vigorous intensity activity per week, ideally combined with muscle-strengthening activities and less sedentary time. Our wellness time and group sessions make it easier to get there.

For employers, there is also practical guidance on how to make workplace training succeed — from planning to implementation — based on synthesized research on physical training at work. That kind of structured approach mirrors how we operate internally.

The impact on us as a company

When people feel well, they perform better, collaborate more, and are more present — many know this intuitively, and research points the same way. We see our investment in movement as an investment in social sustainability: stronger community, healthier employees, and a more sustainable workday.
